Story Synopsis
Fog blankets the predawn dips and valleys of the wood. Gray tree canopy burns red as Dusk lightens the torch of sun. Prisms of color spray against the forest floor in early morning. Sabeen’s shadow leads her on the many paths she has laid herself. Everything here is scientific and calculable. It is the populated world where the mysteries linger.
Some bodies simply disappear from the public domain: funerals closed casket, fabric and wood rot in designated pit, while body turns to soil in the sun. Many more for the statistic books, none for consecration. Stories of persons’ contributions to life literally extended past their natural ends; Sabeen shares her unique professional experiences with life, death, and unlife.
Sabeen is engrossed by living records. And in death, how one is capable of miracles. Her days pass on the "Farm": government forest, unharvested for years. A workaholic, she spends dusk holed up pouring over stories, documents, personal affects. Days-off lead her on expeditions on life paths becoming overgrown; a hobby become obsession; she must know them intimately, she will know them better than their closest survivors. Into them she breaths life anew, though to the outside they remain… dead still.
Direction of Photography
Specs. High Definition (HD). Wide-screen. 24p (Progressive) Digital imagery. Shallow Depth of field, desaturated urban color, supersaturated rural color.
Visual taste. Outdoor monochromatic lighting. Striking primal forests. Anxious, clustered public settings.
